Stephen Robert Rout (Japanese: 赤さん Hepburn: Aka-san) is an American. He was born on October 25, 1999 in Florida, United States.

Names[edit | edit source]

Aka-san is a modified version of the Japanese word for baby, akachan, but with the cutesy honorific 'chan' being replaced with the more neutral, grown-up honorific 'san'.

In Japanese, Stephen Rout's name is transcribed as Sutiibun Rauto (スティーブン・ラウト).

History[edit | edit source]

General[edit | edit source]

He is Allen Rout's son. Stephen Rout's photo of him smiling was uploaded to his father's website on March 19th, 2000. His very first appearance in Gachimuchi Pants Wrestling is from Billy Herrington's footage from the film Recharge!. In the earlier days of the Wrestling Series, Stephen Rout's ears were cropped out of the general area that the smiling baby face already covered. Within time though, the ears remained intact in later videos.

Stephen is aware of his fame with his father also knowing about his son's fame, too.

Pre-Gachimuchi Pants Wrestling[edit | edit source]

Use of the image macro dates as back as 2004 in the site 2chan.

Role in Gachimuchi Pants Wrestling[edit | edit source]

Censorship[edit | edit source]

Aka-san is used to censor genitalia and, on occasion, breasts of female characters. Sometimes, he can be seen in some of the films and videos as a different color, different expression, rotating in some films and videos, or wearing something like black glasses. Aka-san is not the only thing used as censorship, though. Lobsters, disco balls, flowers, Billy Herrington's head in his signature smile found in Recharge!, crabs, clouds, fire, Billy's smiling face in a fire, blue fire, and glowing lights are just one of the many things used for censorship in Gachimuchi Pants Wrestling.

When Aka-san appears, Japanese users tend to use the phrase 「どうも、赤さん・・・」 which translates to "Thank you, Aka-san..." for his censorship.

Notable spinning variations of Aka-san come from the video of Dark Pursuit uploaded to Nico Nico Douga and Jirka Kalvoda's scene from Max Men Strip Fantasy 1.

MAD[edit | edit source]

Aka-san can have many expressions and some fans can easily edit Aka-san and animate him.

Authentic Gachimuchi Information[edit | edit source]

  • The original Aka-san meme was used as an image macro, which begins with a kind remark devolving into an insult, ending with the words "Masani geidou!" (まさに外道. "Downright heresy!" or "Shame on you!"). Its humorous element of a happy baby's face against a strongly insulting comment caused it to become an amusing meme, mainly because his appearance shames the viewer for watching clips that are lewd.
  • Used as a tool of censorship, even outside of Gachimuchi Pants Wrestling, on Nico Nico Douga.
