He grew up in North Bay, Ontario and most of his family still lives in that area. He played volleyball during his early school days and never showed an interest in Wrestling until he entered [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilfrid_Laurier_University Wilfrid Laurier University] in Waterloo, Ontario. During his time at Wilfrid Laurier, Lance finally found what he wanted in life was to be a pro wrestler. So he moved to the home of wrestling legends in Canada; Calgary, Alberta.

Lance Storm (Japanese: いかりやカズヨシ Hepburn: Ikariya Kazuyoshi) is a former gay pornographic film actor.

His name stems from the fact that he had similar wrestling moves to Mark Wolff and Danny Lee when he fought against Brett Mycles in the film Storm Fighter.

In Japanese, Lance Storm is transcribed as Ransu Sutōmu (ランス・ストーム).

As part of an April Fools video, Lance Storm is a fake Mark Wolff and Danny Lee clone to match up with the fake Billy Herrington clone, Brett Mycles.
