In Japanese, Alexander Vishnevsky's name is transcribed as Arekusandoru Vishunefusukī (アレクサンドル・ヴィシュネフスキー).

History[edit | edit source]

The future athlete first found bodybuilding in 1987 while visiting competitions. The bodybuilding competition Championship of the USSR, which was in Saint Petersburg, made a great impression on him to start bodybuilding.

In the beginning of January 1989, he joined the club Monolit. In the club, he met with veteran bodybuilding Boris Raev and, in turn, he introduced him to the careful consideration and appreciation for the physical shape of an athlete and decided to take him to the USSR championship among other juniors. Unexpectedly, he won the contest and received a Master of Sports.

In June 1989, he participated in the USSR Championship and won sixth place. In 1990, he managed to take first in tournament Mr. Ural, which was held in Ufa.

In 1992, he was invited to participate in a tournament in Czechoslovakia and soon he became the first Russian champion in Europe.

In 1993, the athlete won the international tournament in Tyumenand in the spring of that year, he became the champion of Russia in Moscow. After that, he went to a tournament in Minsk and took third place. In Autumn of the same year in Omsk, he became the world champion in terms of weight with 90 kg. A week later, he took part in the World Championship in Seoul and won third place.

In 1994, Alexander Vishnevsky became the Russian champion in Krasnoyarsk and after that won the European Championships, held in Tyumen. Also, in the same year, he participated in the World Championship in Shanghai and won fourth place. In December of the same year, he managed to take first place at the tournament, Yuzhnaya Palmyra in Odessa.

From his own words, it wasn't easy to get into shape because in China, he gained 90kg of weight in a very short time. It was necessary for him to lose about 10kg so he decided to no longer sharply gain weight and quickly lose weight.

In 1997, he became the champion of Russia and in 2002 he managed to become the Russian champion in his weight category in Saint Petersburg. In 2004, he took part in the Night of the Champions tournament in New York and won in twenty-second place.
